Camping in Bolzano and its environs

An overview of all the campsites

When camping in Bolzano, the provincial capital, you quickly realise what makes South Tyrol so unique. Where else can you find such a charming mix of Mediterranean flair and Alpine tradition?

Spring starts early in Bolzano: You can already enjoy an aperitif on the Waltherplatz square in February. If you are interested in art and culture, take a tour of the Museion or the cathedral. In the shade of Bolzano’s arcades, you can escape the summer heat while shopping or enjoying a delicious gelato. We recommend a walk along the Talfer promenade in autumn, followed by a detour to Bolzano’s fruit market with all its South Tyrolean and Mediterranean delicacies.

Montiggler lake and Kalterer lake provide the perfect place to cool off – and not only in the summer months. The towns of Meran and Brixen are not far away. In winter, a visit to the Christmas market at Waltherplatz square is a must. Bolzano’s surroundings also have a lot to offer – from culture and sports to natural beauty, there is plenty going on all year round. For example, the Salten plateau – also called “Tschögglberg” by locals – adds magic to your holiday with its varied hikes and spectacular trails. The rolling hills and lush Alpine meadows transform into a true snowshoe hiking paradise in winter, enticing you outside even when temperatures drop below freezing!
