Cable Cars and Chair Lifts in Venosta Valley in South Tyrol
In the mountainous Venosta Valley, modern lifts, gondolas, cable cars and chairlifts have become a popular and comfortable means of transport. Thanks to these facilities, hikers and mountain bikers can reach their destination in the mountains in just a few minutes, in order to begin new and exciting excursions.
Thanks to the many advantage cards on offer, such as the Venosta Valley Card, guests can get discounts on the use of the chair lifts and cable cars, or even the opportunity to travel for free.
Hiking in Val Venosta
During the summer, the Venosta Valley turns into a paradise for hikers, boasting numerous attractions which help turn a mountain holiday in South Tyrol into the perfect Alpine outdoor experience. Leisurely hikers can enjoy the easy nature hikes along the many watercourse trails while more experienced hikers may choose to experience a multi-day hiking trip on the Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail.
The Venosta Valley is particularly sunny with low rainfall, and the landscape features unique characteristics: the north-facing slopes of the Monte Tramontana mountain "Nördersberg" are covered with green woods and meadows, while a drier climate characterizes the opposite side, the southern slopes of the Monte Sole mountain "Sonnenberg" – diversity which is attractive for hikers wanting to experience a mountain holiday in South Tyrol.
Val Martello in the Stelvio National Park
The Val Martello Lying between 900 m and 1,800 m, this is the highest altitude of strawberry cultivation anywhere in Europe. These are also ideal conditions for the cultivation of other fragrant berries, herbs and vegetables of various kinds and you find a lot of very nice hiking routes.
