Vinschgau

Curiosites here go far beyond the place were “Ötzi”, the famous mummified 5000 year-old man was found in a glacier on the Similaun mountain high above the Schnalstal valley, or the yaks, the Himalayan mountain cattle belonging to the world famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner. Vinschgau is a place where various cultures and three countries merge. There is also the interesting contrast between the warm, southern climate in the lower part of the valley and the high Alpine mountain world (with various peaks well over 3000 metres high, such as the Ortler) in the upper part.
